About Us
Von Hawks Rising is a 501c(3) rock cover band that helps families with children diagnosed with extreme illness or trauma. Von Hawks Rising or VHR for short was created in the middle of the Covid pandemic in the fall of 2020. The mission of VHR was born from a group of local musicians with a vision to do more with their talents than just entertain, they wanted to bring hope beyond the sound. Von Hawks Rising has grown into an entire organization of volunteers dedicated to helping others in need.
Since its inception, VHR has helped raise over $45,000 and assisted seven families.
VHR raises money through paid show performances, merchandise sales, and generous donations. Soon the organization hopes to be able to apply for grants and additional matching donations.
Families with children that fit the criteria can fill out the application for assistance found on this website on our home page. The applications are open at various times throughout the year for a month at a time. Once the application for assistance is closed for that session, a committee reviews each one, selects the next family and presents a recommendation to the Board of Directors for final approval.
